Chesapeake Behavioral Health Services
I believe in the power of showing up and providing genuine support in a positive, non judgmental, and comfortable environment. Regardless of what you may be suffering from (anxiety, depression, family issues, coming out, a life change, breakup, a gender or sexual identity transition) we can start the process of healing and problem solving through therapy.
Taking the first step to engage in therapy isn't easy, but it is brave and will be worth it. I offer a range of clinical services to adults of all ages, youth, children, and couples or romantic partnerships.
Areas of special interest include:
-
Trauma recovery and PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder)
-
Cognitive behavioral approach to anxiety and depression
-
Life transitions, building independence, finding community away from home, creating life balance
-
Emotion regulation work
-
Behavioral related challenges for children and families
-
LGBTQ+ gender identity, including transition services
-
Therapy for couples and relationship units
l look forward to scheduling a 15 minute phone consultation to establish what that work will look like. I also have an active teletherapy practice and can schedule video sessions in MD, VA, and DC.

“We do not see things as they are; We see them as we are.”
– Anaïs Nin.
As an Art Therapist, I can offer a therapeutic alternative to traditional talk therapy. Art therapy is a non intrusive form of therapy that can help people of all ages express difficult thoughts and feelings. There is no need to be an artist to engage in this form of healing! Discussion about your artwork and the art making process can help both of us gain insight into your world. By drawing or visually expressing your feelings while talking, even if you can't label or identify your emotions, we will have a starting point with which to address your challenges.
Art therapy can help build a sense of confidence, lower our psychological defenses, create a safe space to explore overwhelming emotions, and even help us to acknowledge and nurture ourselves. It can be beneficial for those suffering from depression, anxiety, trauma, behavioral or adjustment challenges and more. This approach benefits people of all ages!
As a licensed counselor my approach is not limited to art therapy. I have been working with survivors of abuse/neglect, and other significant traumas for the last 4+ years. I am excited to be your guide through this healing process and provide a safe environment for you to understand how your past experiences have shaped how you see things as you are today.
